Euronext Expands with New Office in Porto

by FXInsider

A recent milestone has been achieved with the official opening of a new office in Porto, located in the historic Pharmacia building. This inauguration, which took place on September 30, 2025, was a significant event for the organization, gathering representatives from various institutions and public officials, including a Minister of Economy and the city’s Mayor. The event featured a speech highlighting the transformation of the historical site into a modern hub for technology and operations.

The relocation of staff to this new office marks a significant transition from the previous Boavista location, where operations were based for nearly 30 years. That site has hosted various entities since 1996, including the Bolsa de Derivados do Porto, and has seen a substantial increase in personnel, with the number of employees growing from 120 in 2017 to around 500 currently.

The Porto office serves a vital function within the broader European model, encompassing crucial post-trade operations, a dedicated team, and a technology center focused on the development and management of proprietary trading technology. It is also engaged in innovations surrounding areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and market infrastructure.

This new facility reflects a long-term dedication to enhancing talent and establishing Porto as a center for operational excellence and technology. The move aligns with strategic ambitions aimed at fostering growth and enabling teams to undertake impactful projects that support financial integration and resilience across Europe. This advancement reinforces the commitment to collaboration and innovation in the financial sector, leveraging Porto’s growing significance as a key hub in the organization’s operations.
