Muinmos, a regulatory technology company based in Denmark, has elevated Michael Thirer to the position of Chief Legal Officer, marking him as a new member of the management team. This promotion follows Thirer’s four-year tenure at the firm, having initially joined as the Commercial Director. In late 2022, he was further promoted to the role of Legal, Governance, and Regulatory Affairs Director, which marked a first for this position within the organization.
In his expanded role as Chief Legal Officer, Thirer will manage the company’s legal and regulatory responsibilities while also influencing product strategy. A key focus will be to ensure that the client onboarding process adheres to regulatory standards.
Thirer brings two decades of legal expertise to his new position, having begun his career at various private law firms before joining Muinmos in 2021. Over the past four years, he has been instrumental in the firm’s growth, particularly in solidifying its compliance framework and navigating intricate regulatory challenges, which helps maintain the company’s competitive edge within the industry.
Muinmos specializes in offering an automated onboarding platform tailored to financial services firms. The platform streamlined the client onboarding process using AI to categorize clients and completely automate Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) checks, alongside conducting risk assessments for clients. With the use of its Software as a Service (SaaS) product, the firm claims to be able to onboard clients in less than three minutes.
Several businesses have benefited from Muinmos’s innovative solutions over the years. Notably, Diagram Capital, a firm regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), engaged Muinmos to enhance its client onboarding and compliance systems.
The company is also looking to strengthen its leadership team. Recently, it established an Advisory Board comprising former executives from Salesforce and Google. Additionally, it welcomed a veteran from the renowned toy company LEGO to its Board, indicating a commitment to diversifying insights and expertise.
Muinmos further announced its plans to expand into the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region by appointing a new Regional Business Development Director, Nadeem Sa’adeh. This move highlights Muinmos’s intention to broaden its market presence and support financial institutions in various jurisdictions with streamlined compliance and onboarding processes.
