New Leadership at Eightcap: Michael Clifton-Jones Appointed CCO

by FXInsider

A new Group Chief Commercial Officer has been appointed at the Melbourne-based forex and contracts for differences (CFDs) brokerage, marking what seems to be an internal move. Michael Clifton-Jones stepped into this prominent position after previously serving as the Global Head of Embedded solutions, where he focused on providing flexible business solutions for large enterprises.

In a recent LinkedIn update, Clifton-Jones confirmed his new role. Although efforts to obtain more information about this management change were made, no responses had been received by the time reports were generated.

In an interesting development, the brokerage has recently obtained a regulatory license in Dubai, enabling it to provide financial consulting services and operate as an introducing broker. However, specific plans regarding this new license have not yet been disclosed by the organization.

Clifton-Jones brings with him a wealth of experience, having transitioned to this role from Convera, where he dedicated 14 years of his career, ultimately serving as the Head of FX at the New South Wales location. His background in retail trading is substantial, having previously worked at Go Markets, where he held positions as Sales Manager and Senior Sales Trader. Overall, he contributes nearly 25 years of experience in the financial industry to his new responsibilities.

In the wider brokerage industry, several other firms have also recently seen shifts at the upper management level. Pepperstone, another Australian-based brokerage, appointed Tom Williams as its new Chief Operating Officer, while Rob Bowen transitioned from Group Chief Operating Officer to Chief Commercial Officer.

Hantec Markets has also made executive changes, promoting Norayr Djerrahian to Chief Commercial Officer and introducing Tim Hughes as Chief Strategy Officer, along with Vivek Mehta as Chief Technology Officer. Equiti has similarly restructured its top leadership, appointing new individuals to key positions within the firm.

Overall, these transitions within the industry reflect ongoing changes in leadership dynamics among various brokers as they seek to adapt and innovate within a competitive marketplace.
