A London-based retail FX and CFDs brokerage has announced the appointment of Martin Bleisteiner as the Group Chief Compliance Officer. Previously, Bleisteiner held the role of Senior Compliance Officer at Britannia Global Markets, where he had been working for the last three years in London.
Bleisteiner brings with him considerable experience from his tenure at the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), where he served for eight years in the Supervision, Policy & Competition – Markets Division. His background also includes positions at Market Securities LLP and Cantor Fitzgerald Europe, where he was the Head of German FX Sales. Interestingly, he has formerly been associated with the brokerage, having worked as an FX Sales Associate on its German desk from 2010 to 2011.
This development follows the departure of the former Global Head of Risk & Compliance, Jonathan Silvester, earlier in the year. At that time, the brokerage recruited Hassan Abbas Datoo, formerly of eToro, to fill the Compliance role.
The brokerage operates with licensed subsidiaries in several jurisdictions, including the UK, Bahamas, Italy, Portugal, Brazil, and Mauritius. This strategic positioning allows it to cater to a diverse range of clients across different regions.
