OANDA Japan Adjusts Trading Hours for Turkish Lira Pairs

by FXInsider

A trading platform has announced modifications to the trading hours for Turkish Lira (TRY) currency pairs, which will take effect on August 11, 2025. The affected pairs include TRY/JPY, EUR/TRY, and USD/TRY.

Prior to the changes, the trading hours for these pairs were from Monday at 7:05 AM until Saturday at 6:59 AM for US Standard Time and from Monday at 6:05 AM until Saturday at 5:59 AM for US Daylight Saving Time.

Under the new schedule, trading hours will shift to Monday through Friday from 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM the next day in Central European Standard Time, and from 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM the following day during Central European Summer Time.

The decision to adjust these hours is primarily due to ongoing volatility in financial markets concerning the Turkish Lira. This uncertainty contributes to lower liquidity and sporadic price stability, particularly during early Asian trading hours. These challenges have made providing a stable trading environment increasingly difficult.

By aligning trading hours with European time, the platform aims to capitalize on higher liquidity periods, thereby improving the trading conditions for these currency pairs. The firm has committed to closely monitoring market conditions and will communicate any further changes to clients promptly.
