A leading equity derivatives clearing organization, OCC, has recently made an important announcement regarding its Chief Security Officer position. The organization has appointed Matt Rathbun as the Chief Security Officer-Elect, who will take over responsibilities from the current CSO, Mark Morrison, upon his retirement.
Matt Rathbun brings a wealth of experience to the role, with over 25 years dedicated to information technology and systems engineering. Prior to this appointment, he served as the Chief Security Officer at Two Sigma, a quantitative investment management firm based in New York. In his tenure there, Rathbun successfully led a global security team focused on protecting the firm’s systems, data, and intellectual property.
Rathbun’s impressive background also includes significant roles such as CSO at Microsoft Azure Global, where he oversaw security, compliance, and security architecture. His expertise further extends to past positions including Senior Vice President of Cyber Security Engineering at First Information Technology Services, IT Manager at The Bank of Washington, and Systems Analyst at Siemens Business Services.
In his new role, Rathbun will take charge of a variety of critical security responsibilities once he officially steps into the CSO position. This will encompass overseeing OCC’s Cyber Operations, Security Governance, Cyber Risk, Security Business Operations, Security Architecture and Engineering, in addition to leading Security Red teams.
