TradingView Enhances Volume Footprint Charts with New Modes

by FXInsider

A recent update has introduced two new display modes for Volume Footprint charts aimed at enhancing the trading analysis experience. Responding to user feedback, TradingView has rolled out these features to enable more effective visual data representation.

The first mode, known as Profile mode, alters the display so that the width of each cell corresponds to the trading volume at that price level. This adjustment provides a clearer and more dynamic view, making it easier for traders to interpret data. Activating Profile mode is straightforward: users can access the chart settings, navigate to the Symbol tab, and select ‘Profile’ from the Display dropdown menu.

The second new option is Ladder type, which shares similarities with the existing Buy & Sell type but distinguishes itself by only highlighting the highest-volume cell at each price level. This functionality focuses attention on the most significant price points, allowing traders to quickly identify areas of interest and potential decision-making.

To enable Ladder type, users must also utilize the chart settings window. By going to the Symbol tab and selecting ‘Ladder’ as the display type, users can switch their Volume Footprint chart to this new format.

These enhancements aim to improve the usability and effectiveness of TradingView charts, thus providing traders with better tools for analysis.
